Working on the basis of a bibliographic review of the papers, together with their subject and content analysis, the results of this study reveal, among others, that: (i) the EU-15 authors, as identified by the location of at least one author of the published papers, counted 79% of all authors and 89% of European authors; (ii) the most numerous were researchers from Germany, France, Belgium and Spain, Polish presence was relatively low; (iii) double and multiple authorships outnumbered single authorships; (iv) author productivity in terms of publications followed an inverse power law of the Lotka form; (v) the most studied topics covered: market analysis, factors of production analysis, policy analysis and design of models.
