Abstract
The paper presents the current state and prospects of a dairy processing, trade and milk consumption in Poland. In the period 2003-2005 there were observed following features: fast growth of Polish dairy sector, structural changes in dairy processing and trade, soar of export and decline of consumption. In the future there could be predicted stagnation of the scope of milk processed, further structural changes, decline of export according to the gradual increase of domestic demand. Polish dairy competitive advantage based on cheap raw milk is gradually going away. Law labour efficiency suggests, that labour reduction is needed for the industry to be still competitive in the future.
