Abstract
In the study we presented a brief historical background concerning the development of econometric modelling of consumer demand. We described theoretical concepts and the significant empirical work from this scope to the 50’s of the previous century. We also signaled the contemporary challenges in modelling of consumption. Particular attention was paid to the econometric analysis of food demand.
